Aileen M. Hooks

Aileen Hooks is a partner at Baker Botts L.L.P, resident in the firm’s Austin, Texas, office. For more than 30 years, Aileen has been helping clients manage their environmental challenges. Aileen’s experience includes:

  • Transactional and project development matters at the state, national, and international levels, with a focus on the energy, renewable energy, mining, and chemical industries
  • Complex colocated facilities issues
  • Waste and contaminated property issues, including state and federal Superfund sites, corrective action, and voluntary cleanups, as well as compliance, permitting, and enforcement matters
  • Site shutdown and decommissioning and matters
  • Carbon capture and storage issues
  • Management of chemicals and hazardous and radioactive materials
  • Fuel and engine regulatory issues

Aileen serves on the executive committee of the United States Business Council for Sustainable Development and is a vice-chair of RIELA (Red Interamericana de Especialistas en Legislación Ambiental), a network of independent law firms providing for the exchange of professional information about the local and regional practice and development of environmental law in the Americas.

Aileen’s honors include: The Best Lawyers in America (2005-present) and Texas Super Lawyer (2012-present). Aileen received a BSFS magna cum laude in international finance and commerce from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and her J.D. with high honors from The University of Texas.
