Named by "California Lawyer" magazine as one of California's Lawyers of the Year for 1996, Timothy D. Cohelan is the founding partner of San Diego-based Cohelan & Khoury, a civil litigation firm specializing in class actions. Mr. Cohelan is admitted in California and the District of Columbia, and he has been in continuous practice since 1974. He served as Chairman of the San Diego Regional Coastal Commission from 1978 to 1981 and regularly serves as a judge pro tem of the municipal court, and has co-chaired the San Diego County Bar Association Subcommittee on the Homeless. In 1995, Mr. Cohelan received the San Diego County Bar Association Community Service Award in connection with pro bono work on behalf of the homeless. A 1974 graduate of California Western School of Law, he served as an editor of the Law Review.
