Randye B. Soref

Randye B. Soref, a shareholder at Polsinelli LLP, represents a varied range of clients in connection with the acquisition, disposition, and resolution of troubled assets, both inside and outside of court proceedings. In the real estate arena, Ms. Soref represents financial institutions in prebankruptcy strategy and counseling, state court enforcement of debt instruments, and bankruptcy litigation. She has experience litigating valuation issues in judicial foreclosure actions, relief from stay motions, and plan confirmation. Ms. Soref also represents other constituents in real estate-related bankruptcy proceedings, including debtors, committees, and asset purchasers.

In the healthcare area, Ms. Soref has been involved in a number of cases involving large hospitals, health plans, healthcare providers, and skilled nursing facilities. She has represented hospitals, secured creditors, and healthcare industry asset buyers, counseling them on various issues arising in healthcare bankruptcy cases. Ms. Soref has represented a syndicate of lenders in a large healthcare bankruptcy in Delaware. Ms. Soref also routinely represents patient care ombudsmen appointed by the U.S. Trustee and counsels them on privacy-related issues that arise in a healthcare bankruptcy.

In the entertainment area, Ms. Soref has vast experience representing financial institutions in workouts and bankruptcies of film companies with respect to credit arrangements involving the motion picture and entertainment industry. She has expertise representing creditor committees and debtors in studio and production company bankruptcy cases. She also represents buyers of film libraries in entertainment bankruptcies as well as studios in enforcement of license and other agreements and defense of avoidance actions. (June 2015)
