A Library Maintenance Agreement unifies all of your print subscriptions into a single contract with lower year-over-year increases.
If you are currently receiving a discounted rate for a title, the title is rolled into the deal at the discounted rate.
Your pricing is fixed for the life of the contract, so your library is unaffected by subscription price increases for titles included in the agreement. You know precisely what you will pay for several years in advance.
Does our Library Maintenance Agreement reflect the discounts we previously had on print titles?
Yes. The discounted prices were carried forward in calculating your agreement's rate.
When will we receive our monthly bill?
The invoice is generated on the 4th of the month and can be viewed immediately on My Account.
Will the bill state the unit cost for each title?
No, because the LMA overrides unit costs on individual subscriptions. The bill shows the total amount due for the billing period, that is, your agreement's negotiated monthly amount. The allocated value for each subscription can be viewed in the Monthly LMA Report found on My Account.
Yes. My Account provides for a Monthly LMA Report that furnishes these numbers. Also, you may contact Customer Service for answers to specific questions.
Does the Agreement affect the timing of updates to print titles?
No. We will ship updates to you at the same time we ship them to all of the title's other subscribers. You will receive more updates in some months than in others, but the amount you pay is the same each month during the 12-month period.
How do I know what is included in our Agreement?
West provides you with a list of current subscriptions for all of your library/locations via the Monthly LMA Report. You also can check your billing statement. Any subscription that is not part of the agreement has a line-item charge. In addition, you can call Customer Service for information.
You may purchase additional titles or additional quantities of existing titles at any time while the agreement is in effect. These purchases can be rolled into the agreement at your predetermined swapping periods.
May we cancel titles that are in our Agreement?
Yes, but the monthly fee will not be reduced during the agreement's term. It would be better to retain the subscription until the swapping period, when the titles' value can be used to purchase other print titles.
What happens if a title in our agreement is cancelled?
You will receive a letter informing you of the change. You may then choose whether to receive a comparable title or a commensurate reduction in your monthly fee.
Your agreement covers new volumes for subscriptions included in your agreement; there is no additional charge. Pocket parts, pamphlets, replacement or ancillary volumes, looseleaf pages, related supplemental materials, new disk versions, and updates are included in the agreement.
